To walk around Penang without checking where you are placing your feet, invites a fall into many of the open holes or drainage ditches. Just because you are on a path, that does not mean that a moped is not coming towards you and it may even going the wrong way up a one way street.
It is worth the ankle turning risk. Much of it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and for good measure, it is possibly the food capital of Malaysia.

















Nice photos there Warren. I love the peeling paint and mouldy walls you get in the tropics, can’t beat a slowly decaying building. Enjoy the food there, we got addicted to curries served on a banana leaf in the Indian quarter.
